This article was written by Robert Hunt - the current custodian of HP6161 and appeared in the Alvis Register Bulletin No. 232 of Autumn 2007.

Robert had recently finished restoring No.1 and had been asked by the Editor of the Bulletin to write up his notes on the rebuild.  The accompanying photograph appeared on the front cover of that bulletin and was captioned as follows:

“An old warhorse returns to a scene of former glory.  A view of the Brooklands banking across the bonnet of HP 6161 driven by Robert Hunt at the July 2007 Brooklands Centenary celebrations”

The photograph was taken by Robert’s wife, Lulie.
